Sergiy Valentinovich Sushkov is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor and surgical oncologist with more than 40 years of continuous clinical and research work. He is one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgery in the Kharkiv region: he performed his first video-endoscopic operations back in 1995–1997, long before such equipment became widespread in Ukraine.
For 22 years he served as Deputy Director for Research at the V.T. Zaitsev Institute of General and Emergency Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine — one of the country's leading surgical centers. Under his leadership, dozens of clinical studies were carried out and many PhD and doctoral theses were defended.
Today Sergiy Valentinovich runs a surgical and consulting practice at MARIA Medical Center (Kharkiv), treating patients with the most complex diagnoses in abdominal surgery, surgical oncology and gynecology.
Professor Sushkov combines surgical practice with academic work — continuous professional development, international congresses and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Professor Sushkov specializes in the most complex cases, which require a combination of surgical skill, oncological vigilance and in-depth knowledge of anatomy.
